Our room could have been cleaner. My husband found cobwebs in a few corners of the room. The hotel staff expected us to know all of the events going on in the area, though we were totally unaware. Even when we made it clear we were totally new to the Chepstow area and not from the country, they were somewhat condescending and unhelpful. No one wants to be greeted at checkin with I hope youre not planning to eat here because its all booked. There are many nicer ways to word that or recommend alternatives. If I had known it was such a busy weekend for them I wouldve stayed elsewhere. However, the hotel grounds were beautiful and if we had stayed longer I wouldve loved to walk around more.
Absolutely Amazing. Beautiful spacious rooms and the grounds are outstanding. Dining at Morgans Restaurant is a must! The food was exceptional and well priced. Definitely return here. Book well in advance for spa, as it is very popular and gets booked up quickly.
Nice Marriott - very unusual grounds (church and graveyard), some of the rooms are a 5 minute walk from the main building. Not a problem unless you want to go back and forth in the rain.I did find it was quite slow to check in nearly 10 minute wait - because the only person on the desk had 3 people with separate rooms and had some odd issue with their credit cards not working.The bar staff were a bit slow and not really on the ball - a little too informal. I have platinum status and like a relaxed approach but its a bit too lax.Gym, pool and steam room all very good.
I went to St Pierre Spa today with my daughter. The day was a gift to us from my son . as my daughter is soon to be married. The front of house gent was very nice and told us what to expect from our day. We were given a tour by lady who was very helpful.Our first stop was a coffee. The gent ( Ahmed ) who served us, went above and beyond his role to make us feel welcome ( more obvious, as he was spoken to VERY rudely by some women from a large group) He kept cool and his manners were faultless.We then went to the Spa area......nice.As informed at the beginning of our day, we went to the pre treatment room 10 minutes before our treatment was due (2pm) We were called at 2.10pm. The massage was good. We had finished by 2.25 pm !We dressed and left, hoping to leave feedback at reception. As we left the lady didn't ask about our day and seemed preoccupied.We left feeling a little deflated.
Would highly recommend. We had our wedding here 3 weeks ago and it was amazing couldn't of asked for more. Staff were great and really made our day so special, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Stunning clean rooms and breakfast was delicious. Absolutely beautiful place with great facilities. Can not speak highly enough of st Pierre great place you won't be disappointed.
